Meet Dr. Yowell

Dr. Yowell was born and raised in McPherson, KS. He is a Board-Certified General Dentist who received his undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Kansas State University and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City Dental School in 1987. Dr. Yowell completed a two year Associateship in General Dentistry in Kansas City before buying a Dental practice in McPherson, KS in 1989. He is currently a diplomate of the Kansas Dental Board and member of the American Dental Association and belongs to a number of organizations: Kansas Dental Association, Wichita District Dental Society, McPherson Chamber of Commerce, Countryside Covenant Church, Rotary International and Gideons Internations.

Dr. Yowell has devoted his professional career to all aspects of General Dentistry with special interests in Cosmetic Dentistry, Cerec Technology (one appointment Porcelain Crown), Clear Correct Alignment Technology (comparable to Invisalign), Implant Placement as well as Restoration and Laser Treatment. To keep abreast of the latest developments in specialty, Dr. Yowell has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of Kansas.

Some of his hobbies include spending time with family, swimming, biking, and Gideon’s International. Dr. Yowell has been married for 40 years to Tricia (Creighton) Yowell. They have 7 children: Amelia, Audrey, Graham, Grace, Ellen, Emma and Claire and six grandchildren: Teddy Tran (son of Amelia), Karter Buckbee (daughter of Audrey), Blayke and Addison Yowell (daughter’s of Graham) and Owen and Lydia Jensen (son and daughter of Grace).

Dr. Audrey E. y. Buckbee, D.D.S


Dr. Buckbee is Dr. Yowell’s second oldest daughter. She grew up in McPherson and graduated from McPherson High School in 2009. She then went on to continue her education on a golf scholarship at The University of Kansas where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. During her time at KU, Dr. Buckbee was named four consecutive times to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team. After graduating from the University of Kansas, Dr. Buckbee was accepted into dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. During her time at Creighton, she earned a place on the Academic Dean’s List four consecutive years and graduated with honors.

Dr. Buckbee is passionate about developing lasting relationships with her patients and helping people of all ages improve their health. She is also dedicated to helping the underserved populations in the community. While in school, she frequently volunteered with Give Kids A Smile and Nebraska Missions of Mercy. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry, and Christian Medical/Dental Association. In May of 2020, Dr. Buckbee earned her Fellowship status in The International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI). The ICOI is an organization composed of all dental specialties that is devoted to dental education, most specifically that of dental implants. This fellowship demonstrates Dr. Buckbee’s commitment to excellence professionally and in practicing implant dentistry.

Dr. Buckbee’s husband, Shawn, is also a McPherson native and works for Williams. Together they enjoy golfing, biking, and spending time with their daughter Karter.
